Shatazia was a short lived Contemporary Jazz project that had small success on internet radio with a track from the EP titled "One Night". Shatazia was formed by the gathering at a jam session that included Tony Shibumi (Bass/Drums), Tony Limjoco (Guitar) and Darryl Dawes (Keyboards). It all started when the drummer from a band that Tony Shibumi was touring with knew that getting these three together would create a great musical experience, which he was right, but he never showed for the jam. So in the apartment of Darryl Dawes a drum machine was set off and a jam that started at 1pm became a writing session til 4am in the summer of 2006. 14 complete originals songs were birthed that night. Now you have a chance to feel the experience of four of the tracks that made this EP. If you were some of the lucky ones you had a chance to experience Shatazia live at Vintiner's bar & Grill in Santa Maria, CA.
